| Wall Stringer | The stringer of a staircase that is fixed flush with the wall

| Walnut | Is a chocolate brown, coarse-grained hardwood |
| White Pine | Is a white/yellow fine textured softwood |
| Winders | Are radiating steps, narrower at one end, that are used to change the direction of a stair through a 90°, 180°, 270° or 360° turn. A stair can have a minimum of 2 winders and a maximum of 12, dependant upon the number of rooms the stair is serving
